Update from the President
At our August mixer, it was great to have along Mark Fisher from Body Positive, Karen Knight from the Rainbow NZ Charitable Trust, Edward Cowley/Buckwheat from Staircase and Dr. Lung Choi of the new Grafton Medical Centre that he has opened. It was good to hear from them and gain awareness of what they are doing that can only but benefit us all. I appreciated the respect that was given to the speakers, as it is a reflection upon us all. I know that for our September mixer, and future ones to come, that this will continue.
One of our executive members had the chance to attend the 2nd Annual Workforce Inclusion and Diversity Conference held between 28 – 30 August 2019. We all look forward to hearing from Danz on what happened at this conference. We will come up with a way for him to share what he learnt over those days to us all.
Behind the scenes, we are continuing to grow and maintain relationships for Rainbow Auckland throughout in the wider community. These relationships are from corporates, to government bodies and educational areas. With their help and support, we are going to be able to grow Rainbow Auckland, but also be able to offer greater content to the community of Rainbow Auckland.
One of these continuing relationships for Rainbow Auckland is with AUT, who has asked if they can host us for the October Mixer. We are looking forward to this and know it will be an interesting mixer to attend.
